Friends of Dohnavur’s story

The Dohnavur Fellowship works towards holistic development, running projects across the areas of Child Development, Education, Health and Social Care, Community Development, Eco-farming and Nature conservation. All of this is with the express goal of serving the most vulnerable and marginalised people in South India.
Founded originally in 1901 by Amy Carmichael (fondly known as ‘Amma’) as a home for rescued children, the good work continues today as a wholly independently-run Indian Christian organisation comprising many descendents of the Fellowship who grew up and chose to dedicate their lives to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others in need.
