The Centre for Community Development (CCD) is a registered humanitarian organisation committed to supporting poor and marginalised communities in the Tamil homeland and upcountry in Ilankai (Sri Lanka). It also seeks to empower and support the well-being and dignity of individuals who have fled the country and have settled in the UK to advance their own future. CCD’s initiatives in Illankai include the Disability Project (DP), War Widows Project (WWP), Village Regeneration Programme (VRP) and the Pre-school development and educational programme. CCDs UK based projects include the Healthy Mind Project (HMP) and activity centre, Tamil Women Development Programme (TWDF) and the Elders Empowerment Project (EEP). Both TWDF and EEP also provide targeted support back home through livelihood projects in Killinochchi and Batticaloa respectively.
