The George Abbot Parent Teacher Association (GAPTA) is an officially registered charity, administered by a committee of dedicated parents/carers.
Our mission is to work collaboratively as a team of parents/carers and school staff to generate funds throughout the academic year. We achieve this through organising various events and implementing diverse fundraising initiatives. The funds raised are then thoughtfully allocated to enable the school to acquire equipment and educational resources that enhance the learning experience and overall enjoyment for all the children attending George Abbot School.
Help us expand our dining & social space for students!
We are raising £75,000 to help us expand our dining and social space for students. As one of the largest secondary schools in the area, we currently face the challenge of not having enough dining space to accommodate all of our students. To address this, we are launching a project to create a new, dedicated dining space. This new area will allow students to eat comfortably, enjoy a meal with friends and provide a sheltered space where they can socialise, relax, and take refuge from the elements during breaks, especially on rainy or colder days. By improving the existing facilities, we aim to create a much-needed hub for students to unwind and interact, making their time at school more enjoyable.
Our target is to complete the expansion by the summer of 2027 at the latest. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of our students, providing them with a dedicated space to eat, socialise, and relax. Please share this page with family, friends, colleagues, and the wider community. The more people who know about the project, the more support we can gather to reach our fundraising target.
