Since 2009 Merton Home Tutoring Service (MHTS) has supported people to learn English. This includes refugees and migrants and people who struggle to access mainstream education due to health issues, isolation and other reasons. MHTS helps people improve their English through free ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes, conversation groups, skills based courses and volunteer home tutors. They provide free creche facilities, allowing people with young children to access education.
