Local Heroes is a new educational programme from Legasee Educational Trust that teaches young people how to record and preserve the stories of people in their own communities. Through oral history interviews, participants develop oracy, confidence, leadership and digital media skills while creating a lasting community archive. The programme builds on Legasee’s fourteen years of experience recording British military veterans, adapting the same proven storytelling and interviewing techniques to help schools and youth organisations preserve local voices for future generations.
