The Water Lily Project is a Christian charity that is passionate about supporting and empowering vulnerable women in Christchurch and surrounding areas and leading them back to independent living.
The Water Lily Project was founded in 2011 by a group of local Christians who realised there was a need to help women affected by either domestic violence and abuse, addiction, sex trade, financial difficulty or homelessness. Our aim is support and strengthen woman so that we can send them out to independent living. We do this by providing up to 12 months free 121 sessions with an assigned support worker who gets alongside them on their journey. They provide a listening ear and emotional support in a safe non-judgemental environment. Where needed we signpost to other organisations. We also provide a free weekly meal, training/individual goal setting and volunteering opportunities to any woman in our care. When possible (depending on funding), we can also provide professional counselling and bursaries to help those struggling financially.
