Hull Maritime Foundation exists to help protect, conserve and promote Hull's wonderful maritime heritage for future generations. It works in partnership with Hull Maritime Museum to ensure that the treasures in its collections, its beautiful heritage buildings and historic ships and its prized programmes and activities for visitors not only continue into the future but continue to thrive and impress. The Foundation raises funds to make this happen and its current fundraising focus is the £30.3 million Hull Maritime project which will place Hull's 800+ years of amazing maritime history at the heart of its cultural and heritage programmes.
The Hull Maritime project will:
The Hull Maritime project has a £2.6 million funding gap which the museum must fill if this transformational project is to be realised and Hull Maritime Foundation is providing support in its efforts to do so. £1 million have been raised to date but we are in a race against time to source the remaining funds and we are asking for your support to close the gap. Any gift will help us take another step towards our fundraising goal and will help to transform our maritime heritage by creating new galleries and exhibitions, increasing and improving access for our visitors and protecting much-loved but neglected artefacts. Through the help of our supoprters, we will be able to surprise and engage our audiences with revitalised interpretation and interactive displays to make a must-visit museum for the 21st century. And allied to this, we make our city a better place to live, invest and visit. Your support will not only help us create a world-class maritime museum and safeguard internationally significant heritage, but will help generate long-term change in one of the north’s post-industrial cities. Please give what you can.
