Melanie’s story
The Insurance Institute of Leeds have arranged a charity fundraising event where we'll be challenging members from the local Insurance and Financial Services community to walk over red hot coals.
Those taking part will have a training session first and then will be face their fears walking on the red-hot embers. Those taking part will have bare feet and the temperature at these events is often measured at around 1,200 degrees fahrenheit.
We're raising money for 'The Insurance Charities' who are the only charity in the UK specifically set up to help and support former and current insurance employees. Last year they awarded over £912k to people in need.
So we have Mel Jordan. Bernard Thornton, Robert Seymour, Andrew Woolhouse, Mian Zubair, Rabea Asif, Kieran Fletcher, Richard Lindop and Steve Woodhouse taking part!
Fundraising Targets
All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
