Paul’s story
After witnessing the fun had by this year's Heidi's Heroes Swim For Safety participants at the celebration swim last month, 10 intrepid lifeguards from Cheltenham Lido will attempt to swim 100km in one day on the 20th August 2025. All money raised will go directly towards next year's Swim For Safety intervention, ensuring that young children in the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury area learn to be water safe.
This year over 180 primary school children participated in the programme. Although most of them had participated in the school's programme, they were still not confident around the water. After our week long intensive course delivered in partnership with Move More, Cheltenham Ladies College, Cheltenham College and Dean Close School, their confidence grew and it was great to see them splashing around at the celebration event.
