Jonathan’s story
Starting on the 10th January I will be taking on the Winter Spine race. A 268 Mile adventure on the Pennine Way. Starting from Edale in the Peak District and finishing just across the Border in Kirk Yethom (https://www.thespinerace.com/race/montane-winter-spine/montane-winter-spine-spine/). This is a non stop race and one of the toughest in the world but this is a choice, Cancer isn't one! I would like to raise some important funds for Flynn's Barn to help teenagers and young people be able to spend some time in at the barn in Borrowdale int he Lake District. Its costs £300 per person to fund a 3-4 day trip at the site and what a difference this can make to that person with tailored activities, food, staff and transport included. It would be amazing if WE can raise enough to send 5 13-25 year olds on a trip here.
The lake district is my favourite place in the UK. I have spent a fair bit of time there in the last few years on solo or group adventures. I have event run past Flynn's Barn as it sits very close to the Coast to Coast Path, which I completed as the Norther Traverse race in 2025. I am also a massive Wolf Alice fan and I know that Ellie and the Band are huge supporters of this charity.
