Sarah’s story
Jane Everard (who asked me, Sarah, to set up a fundraising page for her) has far exceeded her goal of running the equivalent of 6 marathons in total throughout November and December 2025. By the beginning of January 2026, Jane has achieved over 10 marathons (264.67 miles/426km!). AMAZING! Total raised including off-line donations and tax has reached Jane's target of £3,500!
Having already enjoyed running to raise money for other charities, Jane has been recently inspired to raise the needed £3,500 for the final stage of a very worthwhile cause, building a midwifery clinic in a poor area of Nias, Indonesia. Following the building project, necessary equipment will be purchased as and when funds allow, such as tongs (~£1.25) or a birthing bed (~£140.00). Jane and her husband, Steve, have supported BEATS for many years and even visited the projects in Indonesia in 2017, so they have first hand experience of what BEATS are doing there. Thank you for your donations and prayers for Jane during this challenge. BEATS has also received a grant from a local charitable trust, so already has enough in funds to kit out the clinic as well as build it! PRAISE GOD!
We are pleased to report that the third baby born with the help of Destin, our in situ midwife, arrived safely in December. Babies don't wait for clinics to be built! This clinic will serve 5 villages.
