Henry’s story
In the Autumn of 2019, two of Henry's classmates decided to have their long hair cut short and to donate their hair to The Little Princess Trust. This really inspired Henry and he wanted to do the same, the only difference being that he had really short hair!! And so the challenge began, to grow his hair long enough to have a ponytail of at least 7 inches (17 centimetres) cut off. At the time I don't think he realised how long it would take, or how difficult it would be. Henry doesn't particularly like brushing his hair and we've had some pretty big tangles to contend with over the last two years!! He has also become increasingly irritated by so many people assuming that he's a girl because he has long hair - why shouldn't boys have long hair, especially when it looks as lovely as Henry's! However, he has remained determined and has persevered for just over two years and, at last, his gorgeous hair is ready to be cut.
At 1pm, on Saturday 23rd October, Henry is off to see Lisa at Lisa Roberts Hairdressers to have his beautiful mane cut off. Lisa has looked after Henry's hair since he was a toddler and, whilst he has been growing it, has helped him to keep it in good condition (and given his fringe the occasional trim so that he can see where he's going).
As well as donating his hair to help make real hair wigs for children suffering from temporary or permanent hair loss, Henry also wants to raise money for Fleecehaven, a charity very dear to his heart as it is run by his Granny and Auntie (Anne and Emma). Henry adores the sheep that Fleecehaven have recused and, when he is able, enjoys helping Anne and Emma to look after them. If you would like to sponsor Henry's Big Haircut I know that he would be absolutely thrilled (and so would the Fleecehaven flock).
Thank you so much for reading Henry's story and for supporting Fleecehaven.
