LS29’s story
The families in the LS29 Special Needs Support Group absolutely love Blackpool!! There’s something about the multi sensory nature of Blackpool, staying a night in a hotel and having fun together that ticks lots of boxes.
This year, a group of our members have set a challenge to take part in the Ilkley Half Marathon and the Ilkley 5K race, as we would love to organise another annual trip to Blackpool in October - it is always a huge hit with everyone who attends.
The LS29 Group was set up by parents of children with additional needs and is run entirely by volunteers. We organise weekend, after school and school holiday family activities for our 200+ families in the group. We rely on fundraising and donations to create fun and inclusive experiences for all the family to enjoy and develop supportive friendships.
We are a parent led, small local charity - so all money raised goes straight to support our families with the activities we organise.
£2000 will fund for 100 people to take part in this fantastic experience
