Roger’s story
IM BACK!!!!!!!
Having successfully run the London Marathon in 2023 (my first ever marathon), its time to take on the famous route around London's packed noisy streets for the 2nd time!
Prior to 2022 I always said I would never want to run further than 10km races however I witnessed that year my mum and friends complete the virtual London marathon by walking the 26.2 miles over a local route of their choice raising hundreds of pounds for Our Harrys Smile. I thought if she can manage it so can I!
Just as in 2023, I failed to gain a place in the ballot but I have once again been offered a charity place through Colin Mansell of Children First International. CFI has been supporting Our Harry's Smile for a many years now and Harry's progress is amazing for a young boy who needs love and care 24/7, and ongoing physiotherapy. With Harrys daily needs continuing to be ever challenging he is due to undergo an operation in the near future. This will mean intensive physiotherapy after, which at £80 an hour creates a serious financial outgoing. Anything we can all do (however little) in these very challenging times might just help to make Harry's and his mum Christina's lives that little bit easier.
