Mike, David & Stuart’s story
After 12 tough months of Arctic skills and endurance training , 5 beneficiaries and 3 supporters from the AGS Foundation with 3 guides will head out to Alaska for three weeks to attempt a summit of Mt Denali which at 6,190 m (20,310 ft) is the highest point in North America.
Alaska is acknowledged as one of the coldest places on earth where temperatures can plummet to -45C and why Mt Denali is recognised by mountaineers as “the mighty one”. Working in rope teams for Crevasse safety we will pull all of our kit and supplies by sled during the early stages of the expedition before moving the weight to rucksacks as we push for the summit. The expedition is un-supported (no Sherpas!); we will build our own camps and accommodation will be two man tents. Teamwork will be key as we work with an amazing bunch of guys who in addition to the expedition challenges we have all have life changing injuries to manage.
All support through this page will go direct to the 2024 Denali expedition and to help support the brilliant work of the AGS Foundation.
Thank you.
Mike, David and Stuart.
