Prab’s story
Giving Back to the Community
GURU NANAK DEV JI’S UDASIS Walk 100 Miles Challenge.
At the age of 30, Guru Nanak Dev Ji embarked on a mission to spread the message of Ik Onkar. His journeys, known as Udasis, took him across India and beyond, covering a distance of more than 17,000 miles over 24 years, mostly on foot.
By participating in this walk, we honour this legacy and promote the values of unity and compassion within our community. Each step we take supports mental health awareness and strengthens our well-being.
This year, one of my personal goals is to give back to the community in a meaningful way. To achieve this, I am embarking on a 'Walk 100 Miles Challenge.' Over the next 30 days, I will be walking 100 miles to raise funds and awareness for Sikh Your Mind.
The challenge is not just about reaching the physical milestone but also about supporting and improving the community’s understanding of a variety of mental health difficulties, from depression to anxiety and dementia.
Every step I take will help bring us closer to a community that is informed, empathetic, and supportive of those facing mental health challenges. I invite you to join me on this journey, whether by walking alongside me, spreading the word, or contributing to the fundraising effort. Together, we can make a significant impact and support our community in a time of need.
