Leicestershire Cares’s story

Four staff at Leicestershire Cares ( Sarah, Karen, Bekki & Aidan) have put themselves forward to compete in the 2024 Samworth Challenge to raise funds for the work of the charity. The staff members are not only committed to their jobs at the Charity, they have also decided to go that extra mile and take part in this exciting biannual event to raise both the profile of and funds for the charity who inspire and empower young people and community groups in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to thrive. The challenge, taking place in Ambleside on the 18th May 2024, will see competitors walk/run, canoe and mountain bike for up to nine hours which will require a lot of training and preparation for each of them! The team will use their physical strength, ability and strategic cunningness against other teams as they navigate their way around a set course to score points. The full details of the challenge will only be revealed to the team the evening before so they will be training hard to ensure they have the fitness and strength to complete the challenge. Please support their efforts if you can. All monies will be used to support the work of the Leicestershire Cares in making a difference to disadvantaged people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, ensuring nobody is left behind.More details about the charity can be found at www.leicestershirecares.co.uk and on their social media pages on twitter and instagram.
