Sarah’s story
My name is Sarah and I am Mam to my Finley Scott Davies.
Finley was diagnosed with Autism at age 2 and a half. It was a challenging time and a very lonely one too.
I struggled with going out to social activities with Finley, taking him to inside play areas, trying new things, shopping and basically with everyday life.
I didnt understand how to deal with the meltdowns in the house let alone out in social situations. The lack of sleeping, his eating habits along with the lack of communication between him, myself and others was a whole new world for me.
As a first time mother I told myself this was ok it would get better.
Then I come across PALS and it did.
I first attended a Dragons Den Softplay with PALS and the relief of no one blinking an eye lid when Finley starting humming and spinning was over whelming. When speaking to other mothers whose children didnt sleep, didnt eat, were struggling with school I was overwhelmed with relief.
I wasnt alone.
From thay day we have attended many many activities with PALS and with friends we have found through PALS.
It really was a breath of fresh air, a new lease of life.
So this is why I have accepted the challenge to take on the London Marathon to try to raise as much money as I can so the charity can continue to help as many families as they can in the way in which they helped me.
I am by no means a runner but have started my training and am grateful for every penny that anyone can spare to help me along this huge journey.
Thank you in advance for reading my story and for your support 🧩🧩🧩
