Bridge’s story
The PTFA have spent the holidays looking at different ways to ensure that we can keep enriching your children’s school experience.
After some consideration, we would like to start a Bridge & Patrixbourne Voluntary School Fund. At the beginning of each school year, we would like to encourage a donation from parents of £10 per child, reducing to £8 per child if you have more than one in the school. This would enable the PTFA to achieve key objectives to continue to improve our children’s, already wonderful, school lives throughout the coming year in addition to our annual fundraising. We are fully aware of the challenges facing everyone financially in the current climate, so any donation, big or small, would be welcomed and would still benefit your children.
For those of you who are not aware, the PTFA funds one of the two school minibuses which goes a long way in reducing travel costs of extra curricular trips etc. Following a lengthy consultation on the school minibuses this summer, the cost of running these has increased significantly. Unfortunately, this rise in cost would utilise the majority of our funds, reducing our opportunities to fund other activities that we would like to support. Over the last year the minibuses made 100 trips. The cost of these trips if a coach was used works out as £100 per child per year. If we can’t fund the minibus, the cost of these trips are then pushed out to the parents.
Last year the PTFA funded the children’s request for new playground markings, and we would like to be in a position to continue to grant these types of requests.
Some of the things we would like to be able to explore are listed below:
- More fixed outdoor play equipment
- iPads - 15
- Pond for the forest school area
- Forest school general equipment
- Sandpit
- Astroturf
- OPAL Scheme
We hope that you will support this fund and it will help enormously if you could kindly donate.
With thanks,
Charlie, Louise & the PTFA Committee together with Mr Tibbles & Mr Taylor
