Nicola’s story
Flynne my niece very sadly died 10 years ago from a brain tumour.
Through all their sadness and pain, Flynne's mum and dad decided to try and help other children with cancer.
Camping holidays every year in the Lakes were a chance for family, friends and Lottie our dog to all meet up and so many happy times were had in that campsite. Flynne loved the mountains, so Kath and Robin moved from London to the Lake District.............. and so it began............
Flynne’s Barn.......................for young people living with cancer
We provide ongoing specialist support for the young cancer community, through online counselling and residential stays in the Lake District. The barn is a unique and nurturing space for young people to come together, to spend time in nature and to find adventure. It's a place to build friendships and help each other along a challenging road. There's something for everyone at Flynne's Barn.
It is hard to describe Flynne's Barn as it is such a special place.
Not just the amazing surroundings but the barn itself feel beautiful, calming and full of love.
I have met some of the children that have been visitors in the barn and it is impossible to explain how the experience has toughed their lives.
Please help me to raise money for Flynne's Barn to continue the amazing work being done.
