Imtiaz’s story
At the inaugural LMC Cup in Lancaster, the organiser, Imtiaz Khoda, has set the 6 participating teams a target of raising funds for at least 1 orphan per team in conjunction with Seven Spikes Relief Foundation. The tournament, which is taking place on 10th September 2023, will aim to bring participants of all ages to come together and experience the energy of a football showdown. Our focus is on fostering fitness, stamina, team spirit and community building. At the tournament we have a team made up of refugees who have risked their lives to come to the UK as they live in fear and struggles back home. In the same way a young child whose lost both parents at a young age constitutes a huge tragedy and shock to a tender child but it can also mean that access to sustenance, education, shelter, and a chance for a secure future all become an unobtainable dream. This is why the responsibility of care for the orphans falls on all of us, who are blessed, through the orphan sponsorship program.
LMC Cup have chosen Seven Spikes Relief Foundation due to their 100% Donations Policy (no donations are used towards advertising or administrative expenses) and their distribution of donations based on first-hand knowledge of the beneficiaries’ conditions and needs. As part of their orphan sponsorship program, they have a purpose-built fully funded Orphanage in Bangladesh. In addition to this Seven Spikes also pay for food, education, clothes, and healthcare of orphaned children in many countries including Yemen, Egypt, Palestine, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kashmir and more.
LMC Cup are reaching out to all our friends, family and community to be generous in helping a orphan. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), himself was an orphan and understood the meaning of what it means to be an orphaned child and hence has encouraged us strongly to sponsor and look after orphaned children. The reward is so immense and the act is so little, a deal worth taking for the promised company of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Paradise. We ask Allah to combine us in Jannatul Firdous together with our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH, Ameen.
