Esthy’s story
Homelessness is a complex, and those affected by homelessness often have previous or ongoing difficulties with mental health, substance misuse, relationship breakdown and trauma. Further, gender and ethnic minorities and refugees are disproportionately affected by the housing crisis.
Therefore, supporting an individual to end homelessness requires an integrated, trauma-informed and holistic approach, which Edge Housing aims to do.
This year, Tony, Ruby-Mae, George, Rachel and Leyton are running the Oxford Half Marathon to fundraise for Edge Housing because we believe in the work Edge does to support individuals to overcome incredibly difficult situations they are faced with. Last year, Edge opened their first women's house and became able to house NRPF individuals (no recourse to public funds).
By donating, you are enabling Edge to support residents in pursuing meaningful activities vital for mental and physical wellbeing, for accessing training courses and supporting Edge to grow in helping more people overcome homeless and be able to live independently.
