Nykki runs London Marathon

Hi everyone!

I’m running the London Marathon in 2025 (2 days after my birthday, to be precise!) and I’m doing it for a the charity that I volunteer with, Move Mates! This amazing charity helps people who struggle with isolation and limited mobility by matching them with volunteers who accompany them on walks. It’s not just about getting from A to B—it’s about connection, friendship, and helping people stay active and engaged with their communities.

As someone who has been on and off with running for the past 3 years, and has only just achieved running 10km, what better way to fundraise than by taking on the ultimate challenge: the London Marathon! Running 26.2 miles is going to be tough, but completely worthwhile to help Move Mate reach more people and help those who need it most.

Move Mates is a charity that I've been working with a short time but I have already witnessed the huge impact that charity has on the community. Small and simple actions, like walking with someone, has had such positive impacts on people's mental and physical health. Move Mates volunteers offer companionship and motivation to those who might otherwise feel isolated. It’s a beautiful, simple concept that can truly change lives, and I want to help them do even more.
