Luke’s story
The Charlie Froud Foundation’ has been set up in memory of Charlie, a 14 year-old boy who died in October 2008 when the light aircraft he was travelling in, crashed in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. He was on his way to stay in the holiday home of his good friend Ayman and his parents, all of whom were with Charlie on the plane and died with him.
Over the years the team has been involved in many challenges, including cycling to Ireland from Bristol and walking the Wicklow mountains at night.
This is the next daunting fund raiser to help support The Glen of Imaal Mountain rescue volunteers, who found the plane all those years ago and support other local charities in Bristol.
We aim to cycle 100 miles, run 10 miles and swim 1 mile over 2 days!
Any donations are gratefully received and will spur us on in our very challenging training sessions.
All the support we get is not only a massive help for our various benefactors but most importantly keeps the memory of Charlie alive for his family and friends.
