North’s story
Join us for Being You, a a positive and inspiring event for Scouts and young people aged 14–24, bringing together members from across Scouting for a day of connection, learning, and celebration, There will be a small charge of £7 per person to help cover event costs.
At Scouts, we believe that everyone should feel welcome, valued, and empowered to be themselves. Being You is an opportunity for young people to come together in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where they can meet new people, share experiences, explore different perspectives, and celebrate the diversity that makes our movement stronger.
This isn’t a Pride event, it’s a youth‑led space to explore identity, confidence, friendship, inclusion, diversity, allyship, and LGBT+ inclusion, you’ll get the chance to share experiences, learn from others, and help shape a community where everyone feels safe, respected, and included.
Throughout the day, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from inspirational guest speakers, take part in interactive workshops and practical activities and engage with representatives from a variety of organisations that support young people and inclusive communities, there will be opportunities to ask questions, share ideas, learn from lived experiences, and take part in meaningful discussions on topics that matter to young people today.
As well as providing opportunities for learning and personal development, Being You will be a day filled with fun, friendship, and celebration. Participants will be able to connect with other young people from across the District and beyond, build new friendships, and discover just how much they have in common with others from different backgrounds and experiences.
The event is rooted in the values of Scouting of respect, integrity, care, belief, cooperation, and inclusion. It is a chance to put these values into action by listening to others, supporting one another, and recognising that every individual brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives to our movement.
