Norma’s story
Jamborees offer an incredible opportunity for young people in Scouting, and the World Scout Jamboree is widely regarded as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Held every four years and hosted by a different national Scout organisation each time, it brings together Scouts from across the world to promote peace, friendship, and cultural understanding.
Selection for the World Scout Jamboree is highly competitive, with applicants assessed on teamwork, leadership, attitude, and commitment to Scouting. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity, particularly given that only 27 young people were selected from the county out of 87 applicants. Being chosen is a significant honour, not only for the young people themselves but also for their Scout Groups and the volunteers who support them.
To attend the 2027 World Scout Jamboree, each participant must raise £3,500 through fundraising and grant support. We are especially appreciative that contributions from wealthier nations, such as the UK, help enable Scouts from more disadvantaged countries to take part—ensuring the Jamboree truly reflects the global Scout community.
We are thankful for any support that helps make this remarkable experience possible and allows young people to represent their communities while learning alongside Scouts from around the world.
We are very grateful to you for helping our young people on their fundraising Jamboree Journey.
