Serena’s story

Our darling Paul, after his fight, lost his battle with cancer in June 2024, aged 49.
Paul loved football, whether that was watching, playing or coaching it and on his 49th birthday, he held the first PBT charity football game, so he could raise money, awareness and be surrounded by his friends and family. Paul unfortunately died a few weeks after this game, but he loved every moment of it and I promised him then that we would make it an annual event; something to keep his name alive and to continue to raise money and awareness of Cancer.
This May would have marked Pauls 50th birthday, so on Saturday 10th May, we will be hosting a charity football match in Pauls name for his birthday, with the two football teams he set up, 'Newbury Dads' and 'Fat Dads Wallingford'. Kick off will be 2.30pm at St Barts School, Newbury. St Barts have kindly given the pitches to us free of charge, so all the money raised can go directly to a very worthy charity, Newbury Cancer Care
In his last few hours, Paul spent his time at The Rainbow Rooms, where we were supported by Newbury Cancer Care, so we would like to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity who help so many people living, fighting and unfortunately in palliative care because of cancer.
