Katerina’s story
Members of the extended Christou family are taking on the unthinkable challenge of competing in this year's Brighton Triathlon. Eight brave competitors aged 4-65 will be pushed to their limits across various distances...
Evan - Scootathlon (200m Scoot / 200m Bike / 200m Run)
Tasha, Kyle, Tanya and Janet - Super Sprint (300m Sea swim / 10k Cycle / 2.5k Run)
Kat and Paul - Sprint (750m Sea swim / 20k Cycle / 5k Run)
Some of us have had lessons in swimming and cycling, trained and participated in park runs. Some of us do not yet own a bike.
Any donation you can contribute will help get us closer to the finish line, for this year's Triathlon and a cure for those with life threatening AVMs.

What's an AVM?
Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is an abnormal connection between arteries and veins, bypassing the capillary system. This vascular anomaly is widely known because of its occurrence in the central nervous system (usually brain AVM), but can appear in any part of the body.
Our lovely (cousin / sister / niece / daughter / aunty) Nikki is living with a very rare form of AVM. Managing multiple adverse symptoms affects her daily life, it has resulted in countless hospital admissions and operations in emergency situations and to proactively control the flow of blood through these vessels. We are committed to helping in anyway we can to try and eradicate this horrible condition.

The Butterfly AVM Charity
With very little research into causes and treatments for AVMs, our family set up a charity 10+ years ago to do just that. The money raised for The Butterfly AVM Charity funds research into AVMs with Great Ormond Street Hospital, UCL, Royal Free and the Francis Crick Institute. Our research team are currently focussed on understanding the genetic structure of AVMs, to locate effective treatments and ultimately find a cure.
Wonderful.org ensures that 100% of the money raised goes directly to this special charity, the primary source of funding for this AVM research.
Fundraising Targets
All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
