Climb the Eiger

In the Summer of 2026, 4th Golcar Explorer Scouts (14-18 year olds) are heading off to Kandersteg, Switzerland, for 11 days of high adventure and international friendship. This event will be raising money for both the Kandersteg trip and other events and activities for every section of 4th Huddersfield Golcar Scout Group, including Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. This fundraising event will help to keep activities and events affordable for everyone.

At this event, we will be working in teams to climb the height of the North Face of the Eiger. We will be walking up a local hill 18 times! which is the equivalent height of the notoriously difficult 1,800m (5,900ft) rock face. The number of times each person walks up the hill will be based on age, with Explorers expected to be working in pairs, climbing a total of 9 times each!
