The Charlie Froud Foundation’ has been set up in memory of Charlie, a 14 year-old boy who died in October 2008 when the light aircraft he was travelling in, crashed in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland. He was on his way to stay in the holiday home of his good friend Ayman and his parents, all of whom were with Charlie on the plane and died with him.
Our missions are:
• To keep Charlie’s memory alive in a positive way
• To bring people together
• To raise money for good causes
Charlies Ultra Challenge is our major fundraiser for 2024. Our intrepid participants have signed up to a 100 mile cycle, 10 mile run and a 1 mile swim. Taking place at the Cotswold Water Park over 2 days.
Training is underway for this demanding challenge. Having to reach fitness in all 3 disciplines is certainly focusing us and 'testing our mettle'! As with previous challenges to raise money for the foundations good causes, positivity, friendship and character will underpin our success.
We’re all excited to be part of it, and any support you are able to offer is appreciated more than you could know.
