Amy’s story
Many moons ago, Amy and Debs volunteered to run a race to raise money for the incredible Move the Masses. 10 miles on home turf seemed like a great choice - a challenge to work at, and an excellent crowd guaranteed. The race is run at the same time at the Yorkshire marathon, and so we could be in awe of anyone who could run that far.
Fast forward to now and things are a little bit different - many strides ahead in fact. Amy has just smashed out her first marathon at Kielder, in an amazing time well under 5 hours. Debs ran her second fastest half on the hilly course, and so it will be tired legs all round to tackle the entirely different beast of York 10 miles. This race may be shorter, but it won't be easy, and we definitely aren't looking forward to that hill at the very end!!
It will definitely spur us on knowing we are doing this for such a good cause, so if anyone had any spare pennies to send our way, that would be amazing. We can't wait to see our cheer station at the 3 mile water point; we'll be the ones in blue!
We’re raising money for the wonderful Move the Masses to help them continue on their mission to break down the barriers to exercise, improve people’s health and well-being and tackle health inequalities.
