Max’s story
Ricardo is taking part in a virtual rowing challenge with CERES to race the distance of the Mangoky River to raise money for Hoveraid.
Hoveraid is a UK based charity who design, build and operate hovercraft to provide humanitarian aid to remote communities where conventional land or water vehicles cannot operate. One of these regions are the banks of the Mangoky river where Hoveraid have been operating since 2006, providing crucial access to medical supplies and doctors to people who cannot usually be reached.
The event is open to all employees at Ricardo to participate, with as many rowers as possible rowing 10-15 minute full-paced sessions which will be totaled to race half the distance of the Mangoky River in competition with CERES.
Donations will go to Hoveraid and will be used to build and ship their next hovercraft, the River Rover Mark 4B, to Madagascar.
Note, wonderful.org donation pages must be linked to an individual hence you may see 'Max's' name appear on this page as he created it. To confirm, this is the 'official' donation page for the rowing charity event on the 20th April.
