Daniel’s story
This Summer, our Explorer Scouts (14-18 year olds) are travelling to Kandersteg, Switzerland, for 11 days of Scouting adventure, challenge and international friendship. Their planned activities are expected to include walking from Kleine Scheidegg to Grindelwald, just below the North Face of the Eiger itself!
This weekend, we won't actually be climbing the Eiger in Switzerland, but climbing a local hill up to 18 times to achieve the height of the North Face of the Eiger, 1800m.
We've had a huge fundraising goal of £15,000 to help support all participants from our Explorer unit to attend this huge international trip. Whilst we'll have loads of fun in Switzerland, we'll also be engaging with Scouts from around the world, focusing on International Friendship by learning about other countries and cultures.
