Shanthi Vihara’s story

Shanthi Vihara's Vision
Shanthi Vihara, a Buddhist charity in Nottingham, seeks a larger space to expand its services. Established in 2013, the centre provides religious, spiritual, educational, and charitable support to both Buddhist and non-Buddhist communities, guided by resident monks. Their current facilities are too small to meet the growing needs of the temple and its visitors.
Current Challenges & Needs of Shanthi Vihara:
Limited Space:
The current hall is too small to accommodate the growing number of devotees and guests.
High Venue Hire Costs:
Due to space constraints, the temple must rent external venues for Dhamma School, mindfulness events, and monthly Sil programs, adding financial strain.
Inadequate Parking:
Insufficient parking at the facility causes inconvenience and tension with neighbouring residents.
Our Plan to address these challenges:
To address current challenges, we plan to move to a larger property. This will be partially funded by selling our current location and raising £150,000 through a fundraising campaign for the deposit on a new property.
Fundraising Targets
All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
